It's not about us. Misleading page title right? Yes, we're aware but first let me tell you why and later you will understand.

We don't know it all; we don't catch the biggest fish, nor do we pretend to. In fact, I'm sure many of you reading this could score higher on a "how good of a fisherman" test than us if one so existed. Do we take temporary pride in the catch and release of a 30 pound Lake Trout on a reef that exists 40 miles into the vastness of Lake Superior? Of course we do, as any should, but that is where it ends. Catching fish is one small piece of the puzzle and its a corner piece at that. Superior Angling is about the journey, the experience, the fish itself, the learning, and the life lessons that fishing brings with it. We are constantly evolving and although our immediate interests and goals may vary, this is our foundation that we will not deviate from. 

Superior Angling started long before I was aware of its existence. It was always there in the background but I just hadn't realized it yet. Grandpa planted the seed shortly after I could walk by introducing me to this immense body of water. Some days we caught fish, others we caught nothing but I loved it, there was nothing else I would have rather done. Growing up mere blocks from the largest freshwater lake in the world, it became second nature to me. I had a stronger sense of direction 15 miles out in the fog than I did in a corn field watching the sun set. The lake has taught me numerous life lessons, mainly respect and how powerless we really are compared to nature. The lake challenges you, it makes you think and be aware at all times. As in life, if you get too comfortable you are putting yourself in danger.

What is Superior Angling? We are a media company based out of Duluth, MN with a T.V show on WDIO 10/13 which is currently airing. Although Lake Superior is our main focus, we also enjoy other bodies of water the midwest has to offer. Walleye, Trout, Salmon, Pike and Panfish all have our interest. Along with fishing, we also specialize in video production for numerous clients in and out of the fishing industry. 

Who are we? We are friends, we are fishing enthusiasts and we all have one thing in common; Willingness to take chances and enjoy our time in the outdoors. 

Why was Superior Angling started? Its natural. Its what we love to do. Fishing coupled with technology and media is a winning combination (in our mind at least). The beauty and vastness of Lake Superior and surrounding areas are meant to be shared.

Do we have sponsors? Yes. We could not accomplish what we do without the support of numerous companies. Marcum Technologies, RJ's Sport and Cycle, Amsoil and St Croix Rods to name a few. These companies have invested their trust into us and we cannot thank them enough. 

Is fishing our full time job? No. Our week starts when the first 40 hours end. Long road trips, no sleep, last minute planning and coffee is the name of our game; lots of coffee. We do however plan to one day produce media full time. Until then, we will work hard and do whatever it takes to make this a future reality.
